Howdy, my name is Regina Champagne, and I am a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor here at Clarte Counseling. I received my Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

As a member of the LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent communities, I practice through a lens of advocacy, social justice, allyship, and have a great passion for working with underserved communities. My areas of focus range from adolescents starting at age 13 to adults with anxiety and depression to relationship difficulties and life transitions, with an emphasis in couples and families work.  I practice primarily from a systems and existential approach, meaning that I take a direct approach with my clients to consider both the individual, their relationships, and their patterns both in and out of the counseling room. I hold the belief that each individual has the power to make meaningful choices in their own life if they choose to do so and I'm here to help you do that.

I also utilize the Gottman Method in my work with couples, as I have completed the Level 2 training with the Gottman Insititute. The Gottman Method is a well-researched approach to couples therapy developed by Drs. John and Julie Schwartz Gottman. It focuses on enhancing relationships by fostering emotional connection and improving communication. The method is grounded in years of research and helps couples address conflicts, strengthen friendship, and build a deeper sense of intimacy. It emphasizes four key areas: building love maps (understanding each other’s world), nurturing fondness and admiration, turning toward each other in times of stress, and creating shared meaning. This approach is practical and action-oriented, guiding couples through tools and strategies to create lasting, positive change in their relationship dynamics.
